Court Correspondent :
The Bangladesh National Lawyers Association has submitted a proposal for a scientific election system to the Election Reform Commission.
On Monday, the head of the commission, Senior Advocate Shah Md Khasruzzaman, President of the National Bar Association submitted their scientific selection method to Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar.
The association’s Deputy Secretary General Md Shahed Ali Jinnah was with him at the time. Bangladesh National Bar Association is known as a non-partisan federation of all bar associations in the country.
According to the scientific selection method of the National Lawyers Association, national unity has been created in the anti-discrimination movement. It must be kept intact. Exploitation free society will be established in the country.
That is why the main point of politics is election. Scientific election system should be introduced to conduct peaceful elections at low cost of conflict-free candidates.
In this manner, meetings, processions and picketing are canceled during the election period, instead of organizing the election familiarization meeting organized by the Assistant Returning Officer in the electoral area on the basis of the region where all the candidates will give their respective election speeches on the same stage and the candidates will deposit the expenses in the office of the Assistant Returning Officer.
Assistant Returning Officer will arrange to print and hang election posters, banners, leaflets of the candidates at the expense of the candidates.
It is also said that due to the mistakes of the country’s politicians, politics is no longer in the hands of politicians. Politics has now become business policy.
To get out of this situation transparent politics should be created in the country. There has been a reluctance to elect well-educated, qualified, skilled people in national elections. On the other hand, voters have lost the tendency to go to polling stations.
In the context of this situation, in order to have a transparent election, the real voters have to create the habit of going to the polling station and the real candidates, the candidates who are qualified to be members of parliament, have to be interested in participating in the election. There can be a fair election in the country through the participation of real voters and real candidates.
The association proposed to form a national government through elections. It has also been proposed not to hold party nominations.
