Nationwide strike by inland vessel workers has paralysed cargo transportation across the country, leaving tonnes of goods stranded at ports, jetties, and waterways for an indefinite period. The strike has now entered its second day, with vessel workers pressing for their seven-point demand. Essential commodities, including sugar, lentils, edible oil, salt, wheat, coal, stone, industrial raw materials, and fertiliser, remain stuck.
