Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin on Saturday assured that the schedule for the upcoming national parliamentary election will be announced on time, as per the Election Commission’s action plan.
“You will know the election date in due time, InshaAllah,” the CEC told reporters after inaugurating a two-day training session on electoral laws and regulations at the Election Training Institute.
In response to questions about the election timeline and planning, the CEC said, “We are following an action plan. Many call it a roadmap, but we prefer the term ‘action plan’. Every office operates under one, and so do we—especially with a major election ahead.”
He noted that communication between the Election Commission and the government is ongoing and occurs both formally and informally, depending on the context. “There is no need for a formal announcement for such communication,” he added.
The training program is being attended by officials from the Election Commission Secretariat and the Election Training Institute. All four election commissioners, the senior EC secretary, and other relevant officials were present at the event.
Commenting on the EC’s role in broader institutional reforms, the CEC said the commission is actively engaged in government-led initiatives, including those based on recommendations from the Reform Commission.
“We are moving forward, considering all relevant developments. When the time is right, everything will be disclosed,” he added.
