With the theme “Build the country with equality and justice through cooperatives,” the 54th National Cooperative Day-2024 was celebrated in Nilphamari on Saturday.
The program began on Saturday morning with the hoisting of the national and cooperative flags at the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nayiruzzaman formally inaugurated the event by raising the flags.
Following the inauguration, a colorful rally paraded through the main streets of the town and ended back at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
Later, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, jointly organized by the district administration and the Department of Cooperatives.
The meeting was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Jyoti Bikash Chandra, while Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nayiruzzaman attended as the chief guest.
Speakers at the event said that the cooperative movement is a vital tool for the economic emancipation and social development of ordinary people.
They emphasized that the true goals of the cooperative sector can only be achieved through united efforts.
