International Crimes Tribunal-1 is set to deliver the verdict of the case filed against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and two others over crimes against humanity on Monday.

The prosecutors of the case have urged for Hasina to receive the death sentence for the deadly suppression of the student uprising that led to her ouster.

The three-member bench-headed by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, with Justice Md Shafiul Alam Mahmood and Judge Md Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury-fixed the date during a short proceeding held under heightened security measures in Dhaka.

People of the country are eagerly seeking fascist Hasina’s death penalty as the whole nation is waiting to hear capital punishment for the fallen fascist.

Meanwhile, tight security also taken to prevent any possible sabotage threatened by the ousted and activities banned Awami League men.

The allegations presented before the tribunal include: Incitement of violence through Hasina’s July 14 press briefing, which prosecutors claim triggered assaults on demonstrating students.

Issuing orders for the use of lethal force, allegedly involving helicopters, drones, and live ammunition.

Responsibility for the targeted killing of student Abu Sayeed in Rangpur following provocative comments.

Involvement in the shooting deaths of six unarmed protesters in Dhaka’s Chankharpul area on August 5. Brutal attacks on demonstrators, including the alleged burning alive of a protester in Ashulia.

Prosecutors maintain that these incidents were part of a coordinated campaign against civilians and amount to crimes against humanity under the International Crimes (Tribunals) Act. Hasina is accused of holding “superior command responsibility” and participating in a “joint criminal enterprise” aimed at crushing the movement.

The case centres on the 2024 “July Uprising,” a massive student protest that ultimately brought down Hasina’s 15-year rule.

Her government collapsed on August 5, 2024, amid accusations of a violent state-led crackdown that caused widespread casualties. Hasina fled to India that same day as an interim administration took charge.

Following the political upheaval, the new authorities restructured the International Crimes Tribunal to probe atrocities committed during the chaos.

This case was the first to be registered with the reorganised tribunal, which issued an arrest warrant for Hasina in October 2024 when proceedings formally began.

Investigators collected evidence over the subsequent months.
The widely watched trial-broadcast live on state television-concluded on October 23 after closing submissions.

Attorney General Abu Mohammad Asaduzzaman appealed for the maximum punishment, citing the estimated 1,400 deaths during the 2024 violence.
Chief Prosecutor Tajul Islam also demanded an “exemplary ruling.”

As Hasina and co-accused Kamal were tried in absentia, state-appointed defence lawyer Md Amir Hossain sought their acquittal, arguing that the prosecution had failed to establish the charges and warning that a conviction could set a “dangerous precedent.”

Meanwhile, the government has moved into a high state of alert ahead of Monday’s verdict in the crimes against humanity case against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, with the Home Affairs Adviser assuring that law enforcement agencies are fully prepared to prevent any unrest.

Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury told reporters at the Patuakhali Circuit House today that security forces have taken “all necessary measures” to ensure calm across the country as the judgment is delivered on 17 November.

“The verdict must be announced on 17 November. The law enforcement agencies have already completed their preparations so that no untoward incident occurs anywhere in the country,” he said.

He added that authorities are also gearing up for the 13th parliamentary election, slated for the first half of February, ahead of Ramadan. The Election Commission will formally announce the schedule, he noted.
