Nation pays homage on Victory Day

The nation observed Victory Day with solemnity and respect on Monday, as people from all walks of life paid homage to the martyrs of the Liberation War.

Various organizations, political parties, government officials, and citizens placed floral wreaths at the National Mausoleum in Savar to honor the supreme sacrifices made for the country’s independence in 1971.

The day began with President [Name] and Prime Minister [Name] leading the nation in tribute. They placed wreaths at the National Mausoleum in the early hours, followed by a moment of silence to remember the fallen heroes. Senior officials of the government, armed forces, and freedom fighters were also present during the ceremony.

Afterward, leaders of different political parties, socio-cultural organizations, and professional bodies paid their respects, turning the Mausoleum into a sea of flowers.

Thousands of people, including students, teachers, and members of civil society, joined the commemorations, reflecting the spirit of unity and patriotism.

On the occasion of Victory Day, various programs, including discussions, cultural events, and parades, were organized nationwide. The national flag was hoisted at government, semi-government, and private institutions, as well as homes and landmarks.
