Nation celebrates Eid-ul-Fitr

Eid-ul-Fitr, the most significant religious festival of Muslims, was celebrated across Bangladesh on Monday with due solemnity, enthusiasm, and joy aimed an environment of greater political liberty achieved through the July-August mass uprising last year.

The festival marked the conclusion of Ramadan, the month abstinence and spiritual exertion.
Millions of worshippers gathered for Eid prayers at mosques, eidgahs, and on open grounds in Dhaka and across the country.

The central Eid congregation took place at the National Eidgah in Dhaka at around 8:30 am.
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus performed his Eid prayers at the National Eidgah.

Before the prayers, the chief adviser delivered a brief speech, extending Eid greetings and urging national unity to build a prosperous Bangladesh.

Residents of Dhaka participated in an Eid procession that paraded through various streets of the capital on Monday.

Later in the afternoon, the Chief Adviser exchanged Eid greetings with dignitaries at his office in Tejgaon, Dhaka.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin attended the Eid prayers at Bangabhaban.
For the first time, an Eid congregation was held at the old venue of the Dhaka International Trade Fair in Agargaon at 8:30 am.

Following the prayers, a traditional Mughal-style procession proceeded towards Manik Mia Avenue, where a musical performance near the National Assembly Building concluded the event.

To celebrate the occasion, Dhaka North City Corporation arranged a two-day Eid fair at the Bangladesh-China Friendship International Conference Center, featuring over 200 stalls offering crafts and food.

At the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka, five Eid congregations took place between 7:00 am and 10:45 am.
