The Roads and Highways Department (RHD) of Narsingdi has been actively contributing to the country’s infrastructure development, with a total investment of Tk 3,000 crore allocated to various projects over the past seven years. Under the stewardship of Md. Hamidul Islam, Executive Engineer of Narsingdi RHD, the department has demonstrated a commitment to timely execution and adherence to quality standards.
Sajal Kumar Sarkar, the sub-divisional engineer of Narsingdi RHD, highlighted the successful completion of seven projects worth Tk 2,962.40 crore, with two additional projects currently underway and slated for completion by June this year. Notable among these ongoing projects are the upgrading of Panchdona-Danga-Ghorashal highway and the Itakhola-Mathkhola-Katiadi regional road, reflecting the department’s dedication to enhancing connectivity and infrastructure across the region.
The completed projects encompass a diverse range of initiatives, including highway expansions, regional road upgrades, and new constructions, catering to the growing transportation needs of the populace. These developments include the construction of vital roadways such as the Ghorashal Station-Dhaladia-Palash (Gabtali)-Fulbaria-Charsindur highway, Nayapara-Araihazar-Narsingdi-Raipur regional highway, and Tongi-Kaliganj-Ghorashal-Panchdona regional highway, among others.
Md. Hamidul Islam, recognized for his professionalism and leadership, emphasized the department’s commitment to expeditious project completion and adherence to quality standards. He underscored the streamlined processes within the RHD, facilitating efficient tender acceptance and project execution. Furthermore, he lauded the RHD’s pool of skilled manpower, comprising civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers, whose expertise has contributed to the department’s reputation as a preferred choice for road construction projects.
