Through his good work, the Deputy Commissioner Magistrate of Narsingdi Dr Badiul Alam is glittering in the people’s mind.
His tenure in Narsingdi is only 9 months. Due to his aesthetic, creative and development activities in the dis- trict, the local people are proud of him. In one word, Deputy Commissioner Dr Badiul Alam is a symbol of courage, honesty and effi- ciency.
In every society there are some inno- cent people, who have illuminated the premises of the state with their own light. They develop a sense of social decency, and devote countless hours of their lives to the welfare of the poor and needy.
They shine as stars with the brilliance of their honest and idealistic talent. Dr Badiul Alam is one such star who continues to touch the hearts of every human being. He thinks that if every person does his work with creativity
and sincerity, it will be appreciated. In response to a ques- tion, Dr Badiul Alam said, “I do not do any work with the expec- tation of receiving an award.
I try to perform with utmost creativity and sincerity within the responsibilities, prin- ciples and ideals assigned to me. If any achievement comes from it, it will surely motivate me.” Dr Badiul Alam was born in a noble Muslim family in Mandalpara Village of Ramu Upazila in Cox’s Bazar District.
His father’s name is Md Shafiul Alam. Due to family tradition, Dr Badiul Alam grew up in the idealistic spirit of the great liberation war which is reflected in all his works. He was a self-confident and dreamy man from his childhood. He passed SSC from Ramu KM High School, Cox’s Bazar in 1995 and HSC with merit from Cox’s Bazar College in
1997. He got first division in both the exams.
He passed LLB from Chittagong University in 2002 and LLM from the same university in 2003. In addition, he received a master’s degree in Political and Public
Administration from Kyushu University of Japan in 2013 and a PhD degree from Macquarie University of Australia. Dr Badiul Alam joined the administration cadre of Bangladesh Civil Service in 2008 in the 27th batch.
Before being posted as Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner, he was work- ing in important branches as Deputy Secretary of the Cabinet Division. Previously, he worked as Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Industries DDLG Chittagong, Additional District Magistrate
Chittagong, Additional District Magistrate Bandarban, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Barkal Rangamati, AC (Land) Cantonment Circle Dhaka, and Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of Sherpur. Earlier he was working in Bangladesh Judicial Service as Assistant Judge, 3rd Batch.
During his career he attended 44th Basic Training Course, 72nd Basic Law and Administration Course, Basic Judicial Training Course, and Mid-Career Training Course in India. He joined Narsingdi District as the 18th Deputy Commissioner on September 10, 2023. The people of this region hope that this officer, who is the confidant of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government, will one day become the cabinet secretary and become the country’s highest official. If the father of the nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman would live today, maybe he would pat Dr Badiul Alam and encourage him to move ahead.
