A Dhaka court fixed July 1 for hearing on charge-framing in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act against Dhallywood actor Pori Moni and two others.
Judge Nazrul Islam of the Tenth Special Judge Court of Dhaka passed the order on Sunday.
Sunday was earlier fixed to record the depositions in the case. However, Nilanjana Rifat, the lawyer of Pori Moni said the Appellate Division has concluded its hearing on the stay of the case. She requested the court to delay recording the deposition till the certified copy of the suspension order reached. Later, the court accepted the plea and fixed July 1 for the next hearing.
Azad Rahman, lawyer of the concerned court confirmed the matter to the media.
It may be recalled that that the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Pori Moni on August may 4 of 2021, from her Banani flat and seized large amounts of foreign liquor and different drugs from the spot.
