Narayanganj July uprising 21 martyred families get financial assistance

Families of 21 martyrs from Narayanganj, who lost their lives during the student and public uprising of July-August 2024, have been provided with financial assistance of BDT 200,000 each. The assistance was handed over at an event held on Wednesday in front of the District Commissioner’s Office.
The event was chaired by Hosne Ara Begum, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the District Council. The chief guest was Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Md. Zahidul Islam Miah.
Speaking at the event, he said, “Our brave children have shed their blood to establish a new Bangladesh. Today’s gesture is very small compared to their sacrifice. We want to honor their contribution by building an equitable, discrimination-free country.”
During the event, family members of the martyrs demanded the construction of a memorial bearing their photos, legal assistance for ongoing cases, and proper identification of their graves.
Present at the event were Dr. Md. Moniruzzaman, Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary) of Local Government, Narayanganj; Civil Surgeon Dr. Moshior Rahman; Additional Superintendent of Police Ibrahim Hossain; Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan, Convener of BNP’s Narayanganj City Unit; Advocate Abu Al Yousuf Khan Tipu, Member Secretary; Jamaat-e-Islami Central Working Committee member Maulana Moin Uddin Ahmed; Mufti Masum Billah, President of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Narayanganj Metropolitan Branch; and Tarikul Sujan, District President of Ganosamhati Andolon.
