A short film ‘Naobibi’ is being made about the nature and mystery of the haors devastated by climate change.
The shooting of the film has recently been completed in various locations in Nikli and Karimganj of Kishoreganj.
The story and screenplay of ‘Naobibi’ is written by Shah Muhammad Mosahid.
It is directed by Mashiur Rahman Kayes. It is produced by Mac Ripon.
‘Naobibi’ is basically a thriller about the emotions, mysteries of the haor and the reality of climate change.
The story shows a traveller coming to the haor and facing a strange experience. Suddenly, a fire breaks out in the water at night, and a mysterious young woman is seen standing on the other side of the fire. Her name is Maya.
While chasing her, the traveler enters the mystery of the haor. The deep tension between the nature, culture and people of the haor is revealed one by one through the character of Maya.
Mahfuz Munna plays the lead role in the short film Naobibi. Israt Jahan Pami plays the role of the mysterious young woman Maya.
Although this is her first work in fiction, she is known as a singer. Shah Shanto, Shah Obaid Nehan and others also play the lead roles.
Israt Jahan Pami said, “Working as Maya was very challenging. Here, I not only had to act, but also represent the haor. Through me, the audience will see not Maya, but the haor.”
Producer Mashiur Rahman Kayes said that ‘Naobibi’ will be sent to international film festivals once the post-production work is completed.
