In an effort to address unethical lobbying practices, Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mohammad Nahid Islam has issued a demi-official (DO) letter to all secretaries of government ministries.
The adviser raised concerns in the letter about individuals misusing his name or falsely claiming familial ties with him to influence government offices for personal benefits.
“Certain dishonest individuals and groups have recently been invoking my name or pretending to be my relatives to lobby for personal advantages, which is completely unethical and damages my reputation,” Nahid said.
The letter disclosed incidents involving forged documents, including recommendations falsely attributed to the adviser.
Nahid requested all authorities to disregard any such attempts linked to his name or fake endorsements.
He instructed officials to immediately report any lobbying efforts or forged applications bearing his signature to RHM Alaol Kabir, his personal secretary (Deputy Secretary).
The adviser highlighted the government’s focus on aligning with public expectations and implementing urgent, comprehensive reforms.
He also called on government officials and employees to actively support these initiatives.
