Bangladeshi pacer Nahid Rana, known for his blistering pace, has earned widespread praise for his recent performances. Continuing his form in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for Rangpur Riders, Nahid has now secured a spot in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Peshawar Zalmi picked Nahid from the Gold category, marking his first opportunity to play in an overseas franchise league. The team, led by Pakistan captain Babar Azam, boasts a star-studded lineup, including Saim Ayub, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Mohammad Haris, Corbin Bosch, and Najibullah Zadran.

Expressing his excitement, Nahid shared a video message on Rangpur Riders’ official page, saying, “First of all, I want to thank the Almighty. Alhamdulillah, I feel very happy. This is my first chance to play in a franchise league. Alhamdulillah.”

The 2025 PSL, originally scheduled for February-March, has been rescheduled to avoid a clash with the ICC Champions Trophy. The tournament will now begin on April 8, with the final set for May 19.

Despite the upcoming PSL, Nahid remains focused on his current commitments in the BPL. Speaking about his priorities, he said, “I haven’t thought that far ahead yet. Right now, I’m concentrating on Rangpur and the BPL. My focus is on finishing the tournament strongly.”

The PSL will also offer Nahid a chance to meet legendary Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar, who holds the record for the fastest delivery in cricket history at 161.3 km/h. Nahid expressed his eagerness to learn from Akhtar, saying, “He is a legendary bowler. Meeting someone like him would be an opportunity to learn a lot.”
