Nagad provides financial aid to family of deceased sales representative

Business Report :

Nagad has handed over a life insurance cheque worth BDT 3.5 lakh to the family of Sentu Hawlader, a sales representative (DSO) from the Narail region who lost his life in a road accident.

The cheque was handed over on Sunday at the head office of insurance partner Waadaa. Insure, to the deceased’s wife Sumaiya Islam and other family members.

DSOs are not direct employees of Nagad – they are appointed through regional distributor houses. Nonetheless, Nagad believes that it still holds a responsibility toward them. From this sense of accountability, Nagad continues its efforts to stand by these field-level workers, says a press release.

The cheque was handed over by Motasem Billah, administrator of Nagad appointed by Bangladesh Bank, and SK. Khalidujjaman, associate director and chief marketing officer (CMO) of Waadaa.Insure. Muhammad Asif Shams, CEO of Chartered Life Insurance – Waadaa.Insure’s insurance partner – was also present at the event.

Among others, Senior Associate Administrator of Nagad Md. Habibur Rahman, Chief Commercial Officer (Acting) of Nagad Mohummed Shahin Sarwar Bhuiyan and senior officials from both Waadaa.Insure and Chartered Life Insurance were also present there.

During the cheque handover, Nagad’s Administrator Motasem Billah said, “The filed-levelsales representatives are the driving force behind Nagad’s customer services. They work with significant risks. Given the level of risk they face, the amount of financial support at present is relatively small.

We are working to increase this amount. Nagad is committed to standing by the family of every affected worker by ensuring their financial and social protection.”

After receiving the cheque, the deceased’s wife Sumaiya Islam said in an emotional voice, “The loss I’ve suffered from losing my husband in the accident is irreplaceable. Still, I am grateful to Nagad for standing beside us. I sincerely wish the company continued success.”

Sumaiya also said, “Now, all my concerns revolve around our only son. When my husband’s office phoned and told me they would support us, I was surprised. Today, they gave us a cheque.

Thank you, Nagad, for being there for us during such a difficult time.”

Beyond this one-time financial support through the insurance company, MessrsWahiduzzaman, the distributor house representing Nagad in Narail, has been providing BDT 2,000 in monthly assistanceto SentuHawlader’s family.

This support will continue for one year till February next year. Besides, they will provide extra financial aid amounting to BDT 4,000 a year until Sentu’s son becomes 10 years old.

Each sales representative and their family are equally important to Nagad. That’s why this MFS provider wants to stay beside them by continuing such support in days to come.
