Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman wants to be a great cricketer.
Before leaving the United States of America, Mustafizur Rahman stated his expectation in a video message. The ‘Cutter Boy’ said, ” To play for a country is a pride for anybody. Where we take part in a competition in front of our national flag, we feel good to play there. I always enjoy to play for my country. I most enjoy to play T20 cricket competitions. Because, there is a pressure in this format of cricket. I enjoy the pressure.”
He said, ” When a team clinched the trophy of a big tournament, the members of the team are called great cricketers. But we could not achieve a prestigious trophy, so far. I want to be a great cricketer. We shall try to perform better than our performance of past.”
Bangladesh Cricket team played in the semi-final of the Champions Trophy in 2017. It was the biggest achievement for Bangladesh Cricket team. Mustafizur Rahman was one of the members of that cricket team.
Mustafiz is familiar to all of them, who is related to world cricket. He used to perform regularly in Indian Premier League (IPL). He played for Chennai Super Kings this year. But this year he could not complete his IPL campaign as he returned home due to play for Bangladesh Cricket team.
The prolific seamer said, ” I shall share my learning with my fellow cricketers as Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan. We want to improve our performance.”
Mustafizur Rahman played 93 Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. He captured 110 wickets with an economy of 7.57.
The ensuing ICC T20 World Cup will start from June 2 in the USA and West Indies. Before taking part in the World Cup, Bangladesh will play three-match T20I series against USA on June 21, June 23 and June 25 at Houston in Texas of the USA.
Bangladesh are in Group-D with South Africa, Sri Lanka, Netherlands and Nepal. Bangladesh will start their ICC T20 World campaign on June 8. They will face Sri Lanka in their first match at Dallas in Texas on June 8 before they will take on South Africa in their second match in New York on June 10.
The Tigers will play against Netherlands in their third match at Kingstown in Jamaica of West Indies on June 13. The Tigers will take on Nepal in their fourth match at the same venue on June 17.
