Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman made record among Bangladeshi bowlers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Cricket at Joypur of India on Saturday. He played for Delhi Capitals against Punjab Kings to make the record. The ‘Cutter Boy’ captured three wickets in the space of 33 runs in his four overs. He bagged 65 wickets using 60 innings, which made him most wicket-taker as a Bangladeshi bowler in IPL Cricket.
His three-wicket haul helped Delhi Capitals to earn a six-wicket win over Punjab Kings.
Batting first Punjab Kings piled up a fighting total of 206 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Delhi Capitals reached the winning target making 208 for the loss of four wickets when they had just three balls to spare.
Mustafiz captured his first wicket in his fifth deliveries of first over when Priyansh Arya (6) was caught by wicketkeeper Tristan Stubbs off the left-arm pacer.
Then, Shashank Singh (11) was caught behind by Tristan Stubbs off Mustafizur Rahman. It was Mustafiz’s fourth delivery of his third over.
Later, Mustafiz struck again as Marco Jansen (0) was caught behind by Stubbs off the left-arm pacer. It was Mustafiz’s third delivery of his fourth over.
Third-down Sameer Rizvi of Delhi Capitals was the key batter who was the star of Delhi Capitals’ victory. Sameer Rizvi remained unbeaten with 58 runs. He hit five fours and two sixers in his 25-ball stormy innings. Rizvi was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding innings.
Though Delhi Capitals won the match but they failed to reach the play-off stage of IPL.
