Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus on Saturday expressed profound grief and sorrow at the passing of eminent musicologist and author Mustafa Zaman Abbasi.
In his condolence message, Professor Yunus noted that the invaluable contributions of the Ekushey Padak-winning artiste to Bangladesh’s musical heritage will be cherished for generations.
“Emerging from a distinguished musical lineage of the subcontinent, his versatile work in music and research will continue to serve as a source of inspiration for cultural innovation in Bangladesh,” he said.
Professor Yunus offered prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving family.
Mustafa Zaman Abbasi breathed his last at a hospital in the capital on Saturday at the age of 87.
