A special indoor practice session arranged by former Pakistan leg spinner and current Bangladesh spin bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed, brought together aspiring wrist spinners from across the nation.

The young leg spinners were picked from a nationwide hunt organised by the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) Game Development Department.

“All of you are the future of Bangladesh cricket. You all have to give your heart and soul in training… Nobody can cheat success,” Mushtaq was seen telling the group of boys in a video sent by the BCB.

Mushtaq engaged in extensive discussions with the group of young enthusiasts, sharing insights and wisdom garnered from his illustrious career.

Following these discussions, Mushtaq led the group to the nets, where each budding wrist spinner had the opportunity to showcase their skills under his keen observation.

With a sharp eye, Mushtaq offered personalized guidance to each participant, identifying areas for improvement and demonstrating the subtle adjustments needed to enhance their effectiveness on the field.

The session was not just about bowling, but about refining techniques, honing skills, and nurturing talent, all under the mentorship of a seasoned professional.

“You can’t take wickets by bowling good balls, you have to bowl good overs to take wickets. One good ball would never get you a wicket,” Mushtaq advised the young wrist spinners.
