Mushfiqur crosses Mashrafe in ODI cricket

Wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim crossed former captain of Bangladesh (ODI) team Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and became the Bangladeshi player with most ODIs played. The 33-year-old ace batsman earned the achievement when he arrived onto the field in the third and final ODI against the Caribbeans team at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Monday .
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza played a total of 220 ODI matches in his career. The former ODI skipper had, however, played 218 of those wearing the jersey of Bangladesh team, while played two ODIs for Asia XI against Africa XI in 2007.
And on Monday, Mushfiqur became the cricketer with most number of ODIs played by any Bangladeshi. He played 221 ODI matches.
Only two other players have played more than 200 ODIs for Bangladesh. Hard-hitter Tamim Iqbal has played 210 ODI matches, while prolific all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has played 209 ODIs.
