The 150 year old Muktagacha Municipality has announced a proposed budget of around 84 crore taka for the financial year 2024-25. Mayor Alhaj Billal Hossain in the conference room of the municipality on Tuesday afternoon announces the budget. The total size of the proposed budget for the financial year 2024-25 has been fixed at Tk 83 crore 83 lakh 67 thousand 245. The revised budget for the fiscal year 2023-24 has been estimated at Tk 23 crore 46 lakh 1 thousand 469.46.In the proposed budget, an income of 50 lakh taka has been estimated from the revenue sector.
Climate Change Trust Fund is estimated at 7 crore taka. The income from the general fund of the municipality is 15 crore 64 lakh 1 thousand taka. Besides, Tk. 3 crore 31 lakh 34 thousand 989 has been mentioned in the budget. After the announcement of the budget, the municipal mayor answered various questions from the journalists during the question and answer session. Municipal Mayor said in the budget ceremony.
Billal Hossain Sarker spoke under the chairmanship of the executive officer of the municipality Abu Ahmed Abdullah. Among others, 1st Panel Mayor Moniruzzaman Dudu, Councilor Mirza Abul Kalam, Accounts Officer Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, TLCC Member Humayun Kabir Humi and others. Councilors of various wards of the municipality, councilors of reserved women’s seats, officials and dignitaries were present on the occasion.
