Mukta mesmerising audience with pala, folk songs

Mukta Sarkar is the artiste who has been spreading the fascination of Pala and folk songs from all corners of Bangladesh for the last one and a half decades.
Mukta is so much in demand in Pala and folk songs i.e. Shariyoti and Marfoti songs that last year at the moment of the stage season, on the last day of October, Mukta published on her Facebook about her singing throughout the month of November. Names of different regions of Bangladesh were mentioned in that list along with dates.
Mukta Sarkar’s sweet tender voice once enjoyed the audience of the local music crazy audience; repeatedly they want to invite her to their areas.
Mukta’s village home is in Chandpur’s Uttar Matlab’s Shatnal union. Her father Hazrat Ali Sarkar used to sing. Her mother Arifa Begum used to sing a little. However, Mukta’s maternal grandfather Siddik and her father’s interest mainly made her interested in music.
Mukta’s great interest in music was born when she went to the Matlab’s music festival. Akalima Begum and Aleya Begum are the teachers of Mukta’s singing.
Mukta’s first album titled ‘Jwalay Jwalay Ango Jwole’ was released on Monir Hossain’s music from the banner of ‘Torongo’. After that, her more than 200 hundred songs have been released.
Meanwhile, the ‘Loko Kabbayer Surdhara’ programme was held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy last Sunday evening. Mukta Sarkar was originally supposed to sing a song in this event. After she performed Prothom Sadhok Roshik’s song titled ‘Surer Mayay Hrid Mohonay Jagaiyo Ushar Alo’ for all the audience present, the ecstatic audience asked her to sing one more song.
Then Mukta rendered Sadhok Chan Mia Boyati’s song titled ‘Tumi Dak Dile Obolar Pane Chaiyo’.
All the audience present during the performance of the song enjoyed Mukta’s song with great fascination.
There are many favourite artistes of Mukta in this country. But the mother’s love who keeps her going is Baul legend Momtaz Begum. Momtaz took Mukta to many stage shows.
Mukta Sarkar told this correspondent, “I got more than what I asked for in life from Almighty Allah. I am satisfied with that. Audiences all over Bangladesh
listen to my songs with great interest. This is the greatest achievement of life.
I want to sing along with the love of the audience in the coming days.”
