Khulna Bureau :
Leaders of various local political and social organizations have expressed strong reactions and anger over the distribution of leaflets with the Mujib Centenary logo by the Khulna Development Authority (KDA).
There have been allegations that the leaflets distributed at a discussion meeting held at the Khulna Shilpakala Academy on the occasion of World Habitat Day on Monday disrespecting the spirit of the mass uprising.
Guests and invitees present at the meeting commented that this activity is insulting to the martyrs of the July Uprising.
Former student movement leader and member secretary of the Khulna District Anti-Discrimination Council Sajidul Islam Bappi said that fascist Hasina has fled, but her followers are still in power in the administration.
This distribution of leaflets by KDA cannot be accepted. If a proper investigation is not conducted within 48 hours, a strict movement will be launched.
The matter has become more complicated as the name of the Khulna Development Authority’s planning branch is on the leaflet. But KDA’s planning officer Tanvir Ahmed did not answer the phone call, so no response has been received from them yet.
Khulna Development Authority Chairman Brigadier General Mohammad Jahangir Hossain said, this is a very sad incident. Such an incident has happened because of old leaflets. We quickly canceled these leaflets after learning about the matter. Even if it was not intentional, we will take appropriate action.
The angry leaders have warned of a movement if the incident is not investigated and exemplary action is not taken. They have demanded that such undesirable incidents be ensured by respecting the history of the Liberation War and the memory of the martyrs.
