To boost up creativity and leading pupils towards innovative projects Methodist English Medium School Science Club (MSC) organised inter-school MEMS and MEVS National Science Fest 2024 at Methodist English Medium School’s main campus in the capital on the 4th and 5th May 2024.
First of its kind in greater Mirpur, the two-days long event displayed above 50 different projects carefully made by the students of fifteen renowned schools and colleges around Dhaka city.
Opening the fest Dr. Rev. Simon R. Biswas, who graced the event as chief guest, expresses his delight over initiating such a mega programme by MEMS Science Club, and further urges this venture obviously to be taken ahead and held on a regular basis in the days to come.
Of the judges who gave critical look and verdict over the fest events namely subject-based Olympiads, art and wall magazine and projects on display were Dr. Shahriar Khan, renowned EEE faculty of IUB, prominent writer and artist Afsar Hira and Mr. Sujit Kumar Banik, senior scientific officer of BCSIR. Subrata Edward Gomes, the outgoing principal and Mitali Maria Costa, recently appointed in his position were also present at the occasion guiding the event from the front.
While observing the projects, the judges and parents found all the projects potentially effective to tackle the challenges of contemporary life and environmental issues.
