MoU signs with China for install power plant in C’Bazar

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with China on installation a coal-generated power plant at Moheshkhali of Cox’sbazar. The MoU was signed between Bangladesh Power Development Board (PWDB) and China Huandian Hong Kong Company on Tuesday in the capital. Abduhu Ruhullah chairman of BPDB signed for Bangladesh while Huandian HongKong company Limited chairman Chang Yang Gang for Chinese counter. The signing ceremony was attended among others by state minister for foreign affairs Hasan Mahmud Ali, Prime Minister’s power affairs advisor Taufik-E-Elahi, power division secretary Monwar Hossain and ambassador of China to Dhaka Lee Jun. The proposed power plant would be able to produce 1320 MW electricity, sources said. — risingbd.com
