The weeklong solo photography exhibition “Echoes of Peace” by internationally acclaimed Bangladeshi photographer Muhammad Mostafigur Rahman came to a close in New York. Organized to mark the International Day of Peace, the exhibition was held at the Save the People Auditorium of the Peace Center on Hillside Avenue, Jamaica.

Featuring forty striking photographs, the exhibition captured the beauty of Bangladesh’s nature, culture, rural life, human struggles, and interfaith harmony. Each image carried a message of peace and humanity, leaving visitors deeply moved and inspired.

At the closing ceremony on Friday evening, the chief guest, Dr. Toshikazu Kenjitsu Nakagaki, UN Interfaith Leader and President of the Heiwa Peace and Reconciliation Foundation of New York, praised the exhibition. “These photographs are not only about aesthetics; they deliver powerful messages of peace, humanity, and harmony,” he said.

Dr. Mahatapa Palit, Director of the Sri Chinmoy Oneness Center in New York, remarked, “The root of unrest in the world lies in division. Yet we are all children of the same Earth. Coming together is our responsibility, and these photographs echo that very call for unity.”

Other speakers included climate change expert Richike Lipikouiz, filmmaker and peace activist Dima Nefartiti, New York City Department of Education Teacher Sadia Khondoker, photographer and researcher Dr. Obaidullah Mamun, cultural personality Tahrina Parvir Preeti, photographer Sajid Hossain, and Mostafigur Rahman’s wife, Kazi Jebun Nahar.

In his concluding remarks, Muhammad Mostafigur Rahman expressed gratitude to the New York–based non-profit organization Save the People, the United Nations Association of the USA – Queens Chapter, the Peace Center of USA, the Interfaith Center of USA, and the GNRC for making the exhibition possible.

On the final day, the venue turned into a vibrant gathering place for expatriate Bangladeshis, photographers, and art enthusiasts. The closing ceremony was moderated by Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah, CEO of Save the People.

Organizers and guests alike expressed hope that “Echoes of Peace” would not only present Bangladesh positively on the international stage but also play a meaningful role in spreading the message of peace and harmony worldwide.
