Members of Palli Baul Samaj Unnayan Sangstha (PBSUS) have been working to preserve baul and folk songs for many years.
As a part its continuation, under the participation of UNESCO programme PBSUS has launched a project titled ‘Elimination of Gender Gap through Moromigaan – a popular folk item of Bangladesh.’
The project launching ceremony was held at Bangladesh UNESCO National Commission in the city’s Nilkhet area yesterday.
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu MP was present as chief guest in the programme. Noted poet Asad Chowdhury was present as special guest at the function, while Secretary of Bangladesh UNESCO Commission Md Monzur Hossain chaired the session.
Chief Advisor and President of PBSUS Afroza Haque and Ferdousi Nazma respectively also spoke on the occasion.
