Mohammedan retain winning streak in BPL Football

League leaders Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited retained their winning streak after defeating Rahmatganj MFS 3-1 in their seventh match of the Bangladesh Premier League Football at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshignaj on Friday.

The traditional black-and-white out-fit captured maximum 21 points from seven matches and led the points table, while Rahmatganj MFS took the second position in the points table gaining 15 points from as many outings.

Raju Ahmed of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited put his team ahead by a forceful shot in the 41st minute of the play.

After the intervals, Souleymane Diabate of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited doubled the margin in the 64th minute of the game.

Emmanuel Sunday of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club made it 3-0 in the 69th minute of the game.

Rahmatganj’s Ghanaian Forward Samuel Boateng reduced the margin in the 86th minute of the clash.

Earlier, in the pre-lemon session, Rahmatganj were rewarded a penalty kick. But Nabib Newaj Jibon’s shot was saved by Mohammedan goalie Mohammad Sujon.

Brothers Union Club defeated Dhaka Wanderers Club 4-1 at the Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur on the same day.

Brothers Union Club took the third position in the points table bagging 14 points from seven matches. Eleta Kingsley, Rahmat Mia, Sazzad Hossain and Cheikh Sene scored one goal each for Brothers Union, while Abu Sufian of Dhaka Wanderers Club pulled off one.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Police Football Club drew 1-1 with Fortis Football Club at Rafique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on the same day.

Morshedul Islam of Police Football Club scored one goal, while Piash Ahmed of Fortis Football Club equalized the margin.
