League leaders Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited retained their supremacy in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League Football defeating title contenders Brothers Union by a solitary goal in their eighth match at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Friday.
Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited captured maximum 24 points playing eight matches, while Brothers Union bagged 14 points from as many outings. Brothers Union Club took the fourth position in the points table.
The popular Motijheel-based black-and-white outfit remained unbeaten in this year’s BPL Football campaign.
Dhaka Abahani Limited, the other title contenders collected 16 points from seven matches. They took in the second position of the points table.
Earlier, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited defeated reigning champions Bashunshara Kings and Dhaka Abahani Limited.
Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited earned their eighth win in BPL Football over Brothers Union Club after a hard-fought victory. Mohammedan will face Youngmens Club Fakirerpool in their last match of the first phase of Bangladesh Premier League Football.

Meanwhile, Youngmens Club Fakirerpool thrashed Dhaka Wanderers Club 4-1 at the Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur on the same day. Youngmens Club Fakirerpool took the eighth position gaining six points from eight matches, while Dhaka Wanderers Club took the ninth spot with four points from eight outings.
In the day’s last match, Chittagong Abahani Limited edged past Bangladesh Police Football Club 1-0 at Rafique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.
After a barren first half, Fahim of Chittagong Abahani Limited scored the match-winning goal in the 55th minute of the game.
It was first victory for Chattogram-based out-fit.
Bangladesh Police Football Club took the seventh position getting seven points from eight matches, while Chittagong Abahani Limited took the bottom position earning three points from eight matches.
