League leaders Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited will take on reigning champions Bashundhara Kings in their 11th match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital today. The match will kick-off at 5.30pm.
This is Mohammedan’s away match. Authority of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited is anxious about the security of Bashundhara Kings Arena. The authority of Mohammedan has already submitted two letters to Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) due to security concern.
So, BFF sent a letter to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner to arrange sufficient security during the match between Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and Bashundhara Kings at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital on Saturday.
Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited led the points table gaining 27 points from 10 matches, while Bashundhara Kings took the third position collecting 20 points from as many outings. Dhaka Abahani Limited took the second position bagging 23 points from as many outings.
The match between Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and Bashundhara Kings is very crucial. If Mohammedan win the Saturday derby then, their hopes to clinch the title will be increased. On the other hand, if Kings suffer defeat then, they will be almost ousted from the title race. If Kings win the match then, they will keep them in the title race. Besides, Dhaka Abahani Limited’s hope will also be increased.
Today more two matches of BPL Football will be held.
Dhaka Abahani Limited will face Dhaka Wanderers Club at the Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur, while Brothers Union Limited will meet Fortis Football Club at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
