The curtain-raiser of domestic football will start tomorrow between the match of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and Bashundhara Kings at Bhasha Shoinik Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla. This is the second edition of Challenge Cup. Two top teams of Bangladesh’s football will face each other in the Challenge Cup. The game will start at 2:30pm. The giant of Bangladesh’s football will play for the trophy of Challenge Cup.
Earlier, Bashundhara Kings clinched the title of the Challenge Cup 2024.
Marking the Challenge Cup, a press conference was held at the conference room of the Bangladesh Football Federation House on Wednesday.
Head Coach of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Alfaz Ahmed said, “I have got few days to prepare my boys. But I am confident that my boys will play for the title.
We respect Bashundhara Kings as they are better than us. They formed good teams in the last five seasons. They used to bring good foreign coaches. This year, they also fetch a high-profile coach.”
Captain of the black-and-white outfit Mehedi Hasan said, ” Our target is to be the champions in this meet. Last year we lost to Bashundhara Kings. This time we want to clinch the title.”
Head Coach of Bashundhara Kings Mario Gomej said, ” We have a good preparation. We are ready for tomorrow’s derby.”
Captain of Bashundhara Kings Topu Barman said, ” Last year we won the trophy. Just a final. So, we must try to win the match.”
