League leaders Dhaka Sporting Club Limited drew 1-1 with Fortis Fortis Football Club in their 14th match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital on Friday.
After yesterday’s outcome, league leaders Mohammedan retained their top spot bagging 35 points from 14 matches, while Fortis Football Club took the sixth position collecting 19 points from 14 matches.
Earlier, Mohammedan played a goalless draw with Dhaka Abahani Limited.
Fortis led the first half 1-0.
Piash Ahmed Nova of Fortis Football Club put his team ahead by a spectacular right-footer in the 23rd minute of the match.
After the lemon-break, Mahbub Alam of Mohammedan Sporting Club leveled the margin by a power-packed shot from the mid of the field in the 73rd minute of the match.
Fortis got the first chance in the 15th minute of the game. Fortis Football Club’s foreign recruit Valeriy passed a ball to his teammate but Mohammedan’s defender Jahid Hasan cleared the ball.
In the 21st minute, Minhajul Abedin of Mohammedan struck a corner shot in the Fortis’ D-box but a Fortis Football Club’s defender cleared the ball.
Mohammedan’s Malian recruit Souleymane Diabate’s header was cleared by Fortis’ defender in the 41st minute of the play.
After the interval, Mohammedan’s Venezuela recruit Edward’s came close to score but he failed to convert the opportunity.
Riyadul Hasan Rafi of Mohammedan hit a shot in the 81st minute but he failed to find the net.
Meanwhile, Bashundhara Kings played a goalless draw with Brothers Union Club at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on the same day.
Bashundhara Kings took the third spot bagging 25 points from 14 matches, while Brothers Union Club secured the fifth position earning 20 points from 14 matches.
At the Mymensingh District Stadium, Dhaka Wanderers Club defeated Chittagong Abahani Limited 2-1 on the same day.
Nazmul Islam of Dhaka Wanderers put his team ahead in the 37th minute of the match.
Nazmul Islam made it 2-0 in the first minute of the injury time of the first half.
Fazle Rabbi of Chittagong Abahani Limited reduced the margin in the fifth minute of the injury time of the first half.
Dhaka Wanderers Club took the ninth position with 10 points from 14 matches, while Chittagong Abahani Limited remained the bottom position earning three points from as many outings.
