Mohammedan Sporting Club lost valuable point as they split point again playing out to a 1-1 goal draw with Chittagong Abahani Limited in the ABG Bashundhara Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football held at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Friday.
In the proceeding, forward Arif Hossain scored for Mohammedan, while Nigerian forward Ojukwu David Ifegwu netted lone goal for Chittagong Abahani Limited.
Arif opened an account scoring the first goal for Mohammedan in the 27th minute, while Ifegwu restored the parity for Chittagong Abahani Limited in the 34th minute of the match.
After the breather, both the teams however got several scoring chances but failed to take the lead due to lack of proper finishing.
With the day’s out, the traditional black and white Motijheel outfit Mohammedan Sporting Club, who stands at second position of the league table, collected 28 points from 14 matches while the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited, who are fifth position in the league table, secured 17 points playing the same number of outings.
Earlier, in the first phase, the two teams also played goalless draw in a match held at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.
Meanwhile, three more matches of fourteen round will be held today (Saturday) where Bangladesh Police Football Club meet old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh at 4:00pm, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra face Fortis Football Club at Rajshahi District Stadium in Rajshahi at 4:00pm and league leaders Bashundhara Kings take on Abahani Limited, Dhaka at Bashundhara Kings Arena at 5:45pm.
