Mohammedan celebrate after winning BPL Football title

Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited celebrated with the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football title at Martyr Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Friday.

Mohammedan drew with Brothers Union 3-3 in their 17th match. Earlier, Mohammedan confirmed their BPL Football title, the most prestigious domestic football meet of the country. Yesterday they officially emerged the champions to celebrate the BPL Football trophy.

Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited collected 39 points from 17 matches, while Brothers Union Club earned 27 points from as many outings.

Brothers Union Club’s Senegalese recruit Mouhamed Diarra put his team ahead in the seventh minute of the play.

Mehedi Hasan of Mohammedan equalized the margin in the 25th minute of the game.
Mohammedan’s Captain Souleymane Diabate scored his first goal in the 38th minute of the clash.

Diabale made it 3-1 in the 69th minute of the match.

Mfon Sunday of Brothers Union reduced the margin in the 71st minute of the game.

Abu Sayed of Brothers Union leveled the margin in the 88th minute of the game.

It is noteworthy that Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited bagged the BPL Football title for the first time.

Meanwhile, Fakirerpool Youngmen’s Club beat Dhaka Wanderers Club 2-1 at the Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur on the same day.

Fakirerpool’s Indian recruit Ben Ibrahim scored two goals, while Wanderers Club’s Uzbek recruit Khusan Ganizhonov pulled off one for the losers.

After yesterday’s match, Fakirerpool bagged 19 points from 17 matches, while Wanderers Club collected 10 points from 17 matches.
