Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has expressed his desire to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) once he secures a UK passport.
Amir, whose wife is a UK citizen, is optimistic about obtaining British nationality and making himself eligible for the 2026 IPL season. If given a choice, he would prefer to represent Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Speaking on a show, Amir stated, “By next year, I will have the opportunity to play in the IPL, and if given the chance, why not? I will play in the IPL.”
Amir’s inclination toward RCB stems from his cordial relationship with Virat Kohli, who has been the face of the franchise since its inception. Amir recalled Kohli’s generosity when the Indian batter gifted him a bat, an act that left him deeply touched.
