Mobile court shuts down unlicensed clinic

On Wednesday, a mobile court was conducted at Shaheen Clinic Specialised Hospital in the city with the initiative of Feni Civil Surgeon’s Office and with the overall cooperation of Feni District Administration.

The hospital had been operating, admitting patients and operating without a license and approval from the Health Department for the past few days, although the District Health Department had repeatedly given instructions to close them. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Jasim Uddin was present on behalf of the District Administration in the operation. Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer of Sadar Upazila, and Dr. Amir Khasru Tarek, Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon’s Office, were present on behalf of the District Health Department.

In the operation, the institution was closed until it received a license and a financial penalty was imposed as per Section 08 of the Medical Practitioners and Private Hospitals and Diagnostics Ordinance 1982.
