Mohammed Mobaraq Hossain hailed as one of the top Dhol artists in Bangladesh celebrates 20 years of an illustrious career that has been punctuated by countless accolades and international recognition.

Throughout his career, Hossain has graced the screens of Bangladesh Television and has been a recurrent figure in programs across all private TV channels in the country. He has also showcased his prowess in numerous music videos, with his most recent assignment as the principal drummer for the famed “Coke Studio Bangla”.

In 2007, Hossain’s talent gained international attention when he emerged as one of the top six contestants in the “Talent Hunt Best Six Musicians (Bangla Dhol)” show, a collaboration between the German Embassy in Dhaka and the Pally Baul Samaj Unnnayan Sangstha. This distinction propelled his career to new heights, and he has never looked back since.

Among his notable international performances, Hossain represented Bangladesh at the Lalan Festival in the USA earlier this year, where he not only showcased his art but also received an esteemed award at the Lalan Utsab. He has also participated in cultural events in various countries, including the USA, Uzbekistan, and Singapore, acting both as an official and private representative.

Hossain’s shelves are laden with awards recognizing his significant contributions to the Dhol scene. These include the Babisas Award, Trub Award, BMKC Award, AJFB Award, and the coveted Bangladesh Achievers Award, solidifying his reputation as one of the highest-paid Dhol artists in the country.

As he reflects on two decades of rhythm and resonance, Hossain harbors a dream for the future: to see Bangladesh’s music not just thrive but be universally accepted and celebrated.

Born in Brahmanbaria in 1984, Hossain’s immersion into the world of Dhol started in his childhood, growing up in a rich cultural environment. The rhythms of the Bangla Dhol became an inseparable part of his identity as he began learning from his family, setting the foundation for his legendary status.
