Milestone college teacher buried in Nilphamari

The namaz-e-janaza of deceased Mehrin Chowdhury (46), who was the Bangla version teacher of Milestone school and college at Uttara Diabari in Dhaka and died due to severe burn injury while rescuing her burning students, was held on Tuesday at her village home at Bogulagari village of Jaldhaka municipality in Nilphamari.

Earlier her body was carried with an ambulance to the village at 3.45 pm.

The situation occurred as a training aircraft of Bangladesh air force crashed into the educational institution building on Monday afternoon setting ablaze the site and 80 percent of her body was burnt severely as she rushed to the spot to rescue her burnings students.

She died in the ICU of National Burnt Institution in Dhaka at 10.30 pm of the day (Monday).

Her sacrifice for the noble cause created sensation in the whole nation.

Meherin is the eldest daughter of Late Muhit Chowdhury and late Sadera Chowdhury of the village.

After the Janaza, she was buried at the family graveyard beside her father and mother’s grave..

Before the janaza, speakers in their speech narrated that the sacrifice of Mehrin Chowdhury had glorified the teacher’s community as she rescued about 20 students without thinking her own life.
