Metlife settles highest amount of life insurance claims in 2024

MetLife Bangladesh settled the highest amount of claims among all life insurance companies in the country in 2024, according to data published by the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA).

The company paid out Tk2,895 crore in insurance claims last year, maintaining a strong claims settlement ratio of 97.79 per cent – one of the highest in the industry.

Of the total claims settled, Tk237 crore were for health and medical expenses, Tk140 crore for death claims, and Tk2,518 crore for maturity, partial maturity, and other benefits, says a press release.

Over the past five years (2020-2024), MetLife Bangladesh has paid out more than Tk11,400 crore in insurance claims, demonstrating its long-standing commitment to policyholders.
