Tangia Zaman Methila represented Bangladesh in the recently concluded 74th edition of ‘Miss Universe 2025’ in Thailand. Although the crown was not won in the final round, she became the first Bangladeshi to make it to the top 30.

Methila also came third out of 121 countries in the ‘People’s Choice’. The model and actress returned home after the ‘Miss Universe’ competition. Her flash fiction titled ‘Thursday Night’ is scheduled to be released on OTT platforms today (November 27).

Methila arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at around 3:30pm on Tuesday. After returning home, she said that she wants to use her ‘Miss Universe’ experience to help new models showcase Bangladesh on the world stage in the future.

While talking in this regard, Methila said, “All of the top 30 are the most qualified. They also have the ability to carry the ‘Miss Universe’ crown. I’m proud to be able to showcase Bangladesh with honour on this journey. This achievement is an honour for Bangladesh because; we had to compete with 121 countries to get to this place. This is the first time that Bangladesh has won a position in ‘Miss Universe’. The way the people of Bangladesh came forward and voted for this achievement, this is our victory.”

Methila also said, “Every day of ‘Miss Universe’ brings new experiences. I want to share that experience with new ones. While I was at ‘Miss Universe’, I promised myself that I would support everyone who will go to ‘Miss Universe’ in the future because, I have that experience. I have seen that to achieve success, the help of experienced people is very necessary. The whole of Bangladesh has to stand by the contestants. I want everyone, including the country’s experienced makeup artists, camerapersons, hair designers, dress designers, to come forward.”

After ‘Miss Universe’, Methila wants to focus on acting.
She said that she received a movie offer while the competition was going on in Thailand.
