A mental health camp has been organized in Mirbagh, Rangpur. Yesterday, Thursday at 10 am, a mental health camp was held at the Mirbagh office of the Gram Bikash Kendra under the Pathways to Prosperity for Extremely Poor People European Union (PPEPP-EU) project implemented by the Gram Bikash Kendra and in collaboration with the European Union and the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF).
The inaugural session was attended by Panel Chairman Md. Tabarak Ali, 3rd Kursha Union, Technical Officer-Community Mobilization Md. ZiaurRahman, Gram Bikash Kendra, PPEPP-EU Project, North West Zone, Rangpur, Assistant Branch Manager Md. Rashedul Islam, Assistant Technical Officer-Nutrition Benazir Laila, IsratJahan, CNHP Laiju Begum and Maryam Khatun, IrinAkhter and Shikha Rani among others.
The mental patients were seen by the Head of the Department, Psychiatry Department, Rangpur Community Medical College and former Associate Professor and Head of the Department, Psychiatry Department, Rangpur Medical College Dr. M.A. Monem, MBBS, MPhil (Psychiatry).
This camp was organized under the project with the aim of reducing or curing disabilities due to mental illness. A total of 30 mental patients were seen. Out of these, 10 serious patients were provided with medicines by the Gram Bikash Kendra.
