Celebrities share updates of their personal lives with their fans on social media.
On the other hand, a group of detractors are always ready to criticise. Especially female celebrities often have to face ugly attacks and sarcasm.
Popular Indian actress Huma Qureshi has now protested against such criticism and cyberbullying.
She claims that obscene comments or attacks on women on social media should be considered a serious crime like attempted molestation on the street and should be punished accordingly.
In a recent comment, Huma Qureshi expressed her anger, saying, “There are some people on social media who first tell me to post a picture in a bikini.
And if I actually post it, then they comment, ‘What are you doing?’ This kind of double-dealing is as annoying as it is very sad.”
She believes that there should be similar punishments for social media, just as there is for harassing or making fun of a woman on the street.
“There should be no difference,” the actress said. “If you send obscene pictures or obscene comments to my inbox, you should be punished too,” she added.
In Huma’s words, “I just want to say one thing: stop commenting on what women wear when they go out, their makeup, their lifestyle, their work, what time they get home at night.”
Incidentally, Huma’s performance in series ‘Delhi Crime 3’ and ‘Maharani 4’ has been highly appreciated. Huma has now made a bigger place in the hearts of the audience with her strong acting skills in these two series.
