Memorandum submitted to DC

On Thursday, the recently evicted hawkers in Feni, led by Feni Sadar Upazila Hawkers Union convener Kamal Master, joint conveners Mabul Haque and Rajan Patwari, submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner demanding five-point demands, especially rehabilitation, alternative employment, compensation and incentives, and return of the goods of the evicted hawkers.

At 10 am, the hawkers arrived at the Workers Federation office in Daktar Para and presented a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner with a procession.

The signature was received on behalf of the District Administrator by the Deputy Director of the Local Government Department and Municipal Administrator DDLGED Golam Mohammad Baten.

He expressed the opinion that he would inform the Deputy Commissioner after listening to the hawker leaders and recommend taking necessary measures.

Leaders of various professional organizations including Sramik Karmachar Oikya Parishad Scope Feni convener Maqsudul Alam Tipu, Samajtantrik Sramik Front Feni convener Malek Mansur and Trade Union Sangha Feni convener Nasir Uddin Sabuj were present to express solidarity with the hawkers.
