DMP’s message stated that ‘the allegations of kidnapping Meghna Alam are not true’ and said, “Attempts to undermine national security, also attempting to worsen international relations by spreading lies about important people, and Meghna Alam has been placed in protective custody after following all legal procedures on charges of being involved in a conspiracy to economically harm the country.
The accusation of kidnapping her is not true. However, she has the right to seek legal recourse.”
On Thursday night at around 10:00pm, Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) issued a 30-day detention order against model Meghna Alam under the Special Powers Act. Then she has been sent to prison. This order was issued following a request from the police.
