The government has taken comprehensive steps to ensure the swift and efficient disposal of sacrificial animal waste during the upcoming holy Eid-ul Adha, aiming to maintain environmental hygiene across the capital.
According to an official handout issued today, the authorities have also urged the public to properly preserve the hides of sacrificial animals by using appropriate methods.
The decisions were made at a recent inter-ministerial meeting held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, chaired by Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain.
During the meeting, Imams of mosques in Dhaka were instructed to raise public awareness about proper waste disposal and the management of animal hides during their sermons before the Eid khutba. Instructions will also be issued to Madrasah authorities regarding the correct method of preserving hides using salt.
To mark Eid-ul Adha, national flags will be hoisted at various public and private establishments. Additionally, banners reading “Eid Mubarak” will be placed on key roads and islands throughout the city.
Special arrangements will allow underprivileged children to visit Shishu Parks and other recreational spots under Dhaka North and South City Corporations free of charge on Eid day. Friendly football matches and a children’s Eid reunion event will also be held at the Bangladesh Shishu Academy.
The main Eid congregation (Jammat) is scheduled to be held at the National Eidgah at 7:30 AM, weather permitting. In case of rain or adverse weather, the congregation will take place at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 8:00 AM. Any updates regarding the prayer schedule will be announced through electronic media.
Diplomats from Muslim-majority countries will be invited to attend the Eid congregation at the National Eidgah. A special medical team will be on standby to ensure health and safety during the event.
State-owned and private media outlets, including Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television (BTV), will broadcast special programs commemorating the holy occasion.
Religious Affairs Secretary AKM Aftab Hossain Pramanik called on citizens and all concerned stakeholders to extend full cooperation in implementing the Eid-ul Adha programs effectively.
