BDCricTime, one of Bangladesh’s leading digital sports platforms, has reached a historic milestone by crossing 10 million followers on Facebook. The achievement was celebrated with a special event held recently at a renowned restaurant in Mirpur, bringing together prominent figures from Bangladesh cricket, media professionals, and members of the BDCricTime team.
The celebration was attended by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam Bulbul, who joined the program as the chief guest. Former Bangladesh national team captains Khaled Mashud Pilot and Mohammad Ashraful were also present, adding further significance to the occasion. Journalists, cricket enthusiasts, and employees of BDCricTime gathered to mark what is considered a rare accomplishment for a cricket-focused digital media platform in the country.
Founded in 2015, BDCricTime began its journey as a small social media-based cricket page. Over the years, it steadily expanded its coverage, built trust among cricket fans, and evolved into one of the most-followed digital cricket platforms in Bangladesh. The platform’s
growth reflects the increasing influence of digital media in shaping cricket discourse across the nation.
Speaking at the event, BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul congratulated the platform and highlighted the responsibility that comes with such a massive audience.
“Congratulations to BDCricTime on reaching 10 million followers,” he said. “Starting from one and reaching ten million is not easy. Well done to the founder of this platform, Md. Jabed Ali. With this growth comes responsibility. Ten million viewers need to be guided towards understanding cricket in the right way.”
Bulbul further emphasized the role of digital platforms in nurturing cricket culture in Bangladesh. “I would request BDCricTime to continue portraying positive and objective news. Cricket culture in Bangladesh will depend greatly on platforms like yours. People’s mindset will be influenced by what you show and say. This should always be positive.
