Maulana Habibur Rahman, Chairman of Ibn Sina Hospital Sylhet Limited and Jamaat-nominated parliamentary candidate for Sylhet-1 constituency,
exchange views at Sylhet Press Club on Monday (August 11) afternoon. Maulana Habib answered various questions from journalists at the meeting.
He said, Ibn Sina is providing medical services to the people of greater Sylhet at affordable prices. In the light of my long-standing experience in the field of medicine, I want to work for the development of medical care in Sylhet with an effective plan.
He said that Ibn Sina’s activities are being expanded to provide better treatment and space for patients seeking treatment. For this purpose, a medical college hospital, nursing institute, and diagnostic center will be built on two acres of land. I give utmost importance to providing services to my patients.
He said, in addition to medical services, I am also a politician. My relationship with the land and people of Sylhet is very deep. Because I have been in politics in this area since 1984. I have always played a leading role in fulfilling various important responsibilities of the party and in the movement struggle. Currently, I am the Sylhet District Ameer and a member of the Central Maslis-e-Sura of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. The party has declared me a candidate for the Sylhet-1 (metropolitan and sadar) constituency in the next election. Since then, the overwhelming response and love of the people has been motivating me. I want to do everything for the land and people of Sylhet, including journalists.
In response to a question, he said, our demand for elections with PR method has been a long-standing one. We are also making our demand and preparing for the elections. Whatever the method of election, we are ready to participate in the elections, sooner or later.
