As part of the National Unity Day celebrations, a creative masterclass on painting traditional Russian matryoshka dolls was held at the Russian House in Dhaka.

The event was conducted by a teacher from St. Petersburg State University in collaboration with the Serov Academy of Fine Arts.

The workshop introduced young participants to one of the most recognisable symbols of Russian culture – the wooden stacking dolls known as matryoshkas, reports UNB. At the beginning of the session, children watched an educational video showcasing the history and painting process of these traditional dolls.

A total of 30 children took part in the event, each getting the opportunity to paint their own unpainted matryoshka blanks, expressing their creativity and imagination.
Four participants received commemorative badges for their outstanding work from the Russian House in Dhaka.
