There has been extensive erosion in Bangsai-Lauhajung, a tributary of Yamuna and Dhalesh-Ril at Mirzapur in Tangail. Various structures including roads, bridge culverts, houses, crop lands, bazaars have been destroyed due to severe river erosion. Guide dam to protect Mirzapur city under threat. Hundreds of families have lost their homes and are living under the open sky in this area. Hat Fatepur High School, Madrasah, Mosque. Many institutions including Hat Fatepur Government Primary School, Fatepur Union Parishad, Health Sub-centre, Union Bhumi Office, Mirzapur-Basail road, Fatepur-Mahera-Mirzapur road and Hat Fatepur haat and market are now under threat. Taher Uddin, a former army officer, and Monir Hossain, a farmer, said the same thing.
