There has been extensive erosion in Bangsai-Lauhajung, a tributary of Yamuna and Dhalesh-Ril at Mirzapur in Tangail. Various structures including roads, bridge culverts, houses, crop lands, bazaars have been destroyed due to severe river erosion. Guide dam to protect Mirzapur city under threat. Hundreds of thousands of families have been left stranded due to river erosion. On Saturday (September 9), various areas have been visited to see the picture of extensive damage in the river.
The pictures of families affected by the bursting of Bangshai and Lauhajong rivers have been seen in various areas. The paved road adjacent to Fatepur Bazar was destroyed. Due to the merger of Fatepur Palpara road till Kurni-Fatepur Bazar, Basail Upazila has been disconnected from Mirzapur Upazila for two years. Hundreds of families have lost their homes and are living under the open sky in this area. Hat Fatepur High School, Madrasah, Mosque. Many institutions including Hat Fatepur Government Primary School, Fatepur Union Parishad, Health Sub-centre, Union Bhumi Office, Mirzapur-Basail road, Fatepur-Mahera-Mirzapur road and Hat Fatepur haat and market are now under threat. Taher Uddin, a former army officer, and Monir Hossain, a farmer, said the same thing.
