The Mass Uprising Day was observed with various programmes including wreath-laying at the graves of martyrs, discussion meetings and prayers on Tuesday.
Wreaths were placed at the grave of martyr Wakil Ahmed Shihab in Kashimpur area of Panchgachhia Union of Sadar Upazila by the district administration, district police and health department.
After this, Feni Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam was the chief guest at the discussion meeting organized at the District Shilpakala Academy on the occasion of Mass Uprising Day.
The special guests were the district Police Superintendent Md. Habibur Rahman, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rubaiyat Bin Karim, Deputy Director of the Local Government Department in the district Golam Md. Baten, District Jamaat Ameer Mufti Abdul Hannan and District BNP Member Secretary Alal Uddin Alal.
Other speakers included Shaheed Istiak Ahmed Shraban’s father Nesar Ahmed, Ikram Hossain Kausar’s younger brother Imran Hossain, Shaheed Mahbubul Hasan Masum’s younger brother Manjurul Hasan, Hefazat Secretary Maulana Omar Faruk, Islamic Movement Secretary Ekramul Haque, Khilafat Majlis Joint Secretary Aziz Ullah Ahmadi, former Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Coordinator Abdul Aziz, Gazi Salah Uddin Aman, Omar Faruk, July Fighter Nur Hossain, Muaz Mubashir, Nahidul Islam, Prince Mahmud Azim, and others.
On the same day, after Zuhr, special prayers were offered at Feni Central Big Jama Masjid for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs of the July-August 2024 mass uprising and the recovery of the injured.
